The Answer

You may ask, “How do I find the hope and strength to live through all of life’s difficulties and challenges?” I have found my answer to this question in Christ.

Are you looking for purpose in life?

Are you wondering how you can also face your own struggles and challenges?

Are you unsure about where what will happen after you die?

Christ is the only answer to your questions.

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6).

Through my decision to follow Christ I been able to face the realities of all the physical and emotional challenges surrounding my life with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy as well as all of the difficulties of life we all face. But God has led me to a life that is far more than I could have ever imagined. Not a life that is easy, but a life filled with hope about tomorrow, peace that everything is in God’s hands, and a life filled with purpose and a reason for living.

I encourage you to choose to follow Christ today.

How Do I Follow Christ?

The Fact. God loves you and wants you to experience the love, hope, peace, and purpose found in a life of following Christ.

The BIBLE says, “‘For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life’” (John 3:16)

The Problem. We are separated from God by sin which is anything that we do that God has told us not do.

The BIBLE says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

There is nothing that we can do to bridge that gap. We cannot do enough good things, we cannot be religious enough, do the right things, or have a good philosophy. Nothing that we can do can bridge that gap that separates us from God. Only God can provide the solution through His free gift of forgiveness.

God’s Solution. God is Holy and man is sinful. This is a huge gap of separation between God and you. God’s love bridges the gap of separation between God and you. God chose to forgive us of our sins through the death of His Son Jesus on the cross. When Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for your sins.

The BIBLE says, “But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!” (Romans 5:8). “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed” (1 Peter 2:4).

Our Response. We must receive Christ by accepting His free gift of forgiveness.

You cross the bridge into God’s family when you receive Christ by confessing Him as Lord of your life and giving Him total control of your life and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.

The BIBLE says: “But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

To receive Christ you need to do four things:

  1. ADMIT your spiritual need. “I am a sinner.”
  2. REPENT and be willing to turn from your sin.
  3. BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross.
  4. RECEIVE, through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life.

CHRIST says, “Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

The BIBLE says, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

What to Pray:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
